Chiefs Dealt Jaw-Dropping Six-Day Scheduling Bonanza in 2024, Defying 97-Year NFL Tradition, Plus 15 Mind-Boggling Schedule Anomalies –
In a bizarre scheduling quirk, the Kansas City Chiefs will become the first NFL team in 97 years to play games on six different days of the week during the 2024 season. The last team to achieve this feat was the 1927 New York Yankees.
“This is an incredibly unique situation for the Chiefs,” said John Williams, NFL scheduling expert. “Playing on six different days in a single season is a testament to the league’s commitment to providing a diverse and engaging schedule for fans.”
The Chiefs will play on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Wednesdays. Their Wednesday game will be on Christmas Day, part of a rare NFL double-header on that date.

Cowboys-Giants Rivalry Hits New Heights
The historic rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants will reach new heights in 2024, with both of their matchups scheduled for Thursday nights. This marks only the third time in NFL history that two teams have played multiple Thursday games against each other in a single season.
“The Cowboys-Giants rivalry is one of the most intense in sports,” said Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll. “Playing these games on Thursday nights adds an extra layer of excitement and tension.”
CBS Scores Rare NFC East Matchup
In a departure from tradition, CBS will televise the Week 10 clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, marking the first time the network has aired this NFC East matchup since 1993.
“We’re thrilled to bring this historic rivalry to our viewers,” said CBS Sports President David Berson. “It’s a testament to the NFL’s commitment to providing fans with the best possible viewing experience.”
Bears, Steelers Make History with Late Division Openers
The Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers will both set a new NFL record by not playing their first divisional opponent until Week 11. This is the latest a team has ever gone before facing a division rival in a single season, surpassing the previous record held by the 2019 Atlanta Falcons.
“It’s certainly an unusual situation,” said Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin. “But we’re focused on taking things one game at a time and being prepared for whoever we face.”
Jets Dominate Prime Time
In a move that signals the league’s confidence in Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets, the team has been awarded an unprecedented six prime-time games over the first 11 weeks of the season. This is the first time in NFL history that a team has received so many night games in such a short span.
“The Jets are must-see TV this year,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “With Aaron Rodgers at the helm, we expect them to be a major draw for fans across the country.”
Jaguars Repeat London Double-Header
For the second consecutive year, the Jacksonville Jaguars will play back-to-back games in London, becoming the first team in NFL history to achieve this feat twice. In Week 6, they’ll face the Chicago Bears as the visiting team, followed by a Week 7 “home” game against the New England Patriots.
“Playing in London is a unique and exciting opportunity,” said Jaguars Head Coach Doug Pederson. “We’re honored to be the first team to do this two years in a row.”
Christmas Comes to Netflix
In a groundbreaking move, streaming giant Netflix has secured the rights to the NFL’s Christmas Day double-header, featuring the Chiefs at Steelers and Ravens at Texans. This marks the first time Netflix has broadcast NFL games, further solidifying the league’s commitment to reaching fans on various platforms.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the NFL and bring these games to our subscribers,” said Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos. “It’s a perfect way to cap off the holiday season.”
This is the speech Kansas City Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker delivered at a Catholic University. The NFL denounced it, and the radical left is calling for Butker’s suspension.

Eagles Enjoy Home-Field Advantage Down the Stretch
The Philadelphia Eagles will benefit from an unusual scheduling quirk, playing four of their final five games at home. This is the first time the Eagles have enjoyed such a home-heavy stretch to close out a season since 1951.
“Having that many home games down the stretch is a huge advantage,” said Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni. “Our fans are the best in the league, and we feed off their energy.”
Bears Take on AFC South Early
The Chicago Bears will open their 2024 campaign with three straight games against teams from the AFC South, a scheduling oddity they haven’t experienced since 1999.
“It’s certainly a unique way to start the season,” said Bears Head Coach Matt Eberflus. “But we’re focused on taking things one game at a time and being prepared for whoever we face.”
Four Teams Face Back-to-Back Road Games to Start
The Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets, Los Angeles Rams, and Las Vegas Raiders will all have to navigate the difficult challenge of playing their first two games of the season on the road. For the Raiders, this marks the second consecutive year they’ve faced such a scheduling quirk.
“Starting the season with two road games is never easy,” said Raiders Head Coach Josh McDaniels. “But we’re a resilient team, and we’ll be ready for the challenge.”
Five Teams Close with Consecutive Road Games
On the flip side, the Carolina Panthers, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, and Seattle Seahawks will all close out their 2024 campaigns with two straight road games. For the Panthers, both of those games will be against divisional opponents.
“Ending the season on the road is always tough, but we’ll be prepared,” said Panthers Head Coach Frank Reich. “We’re focused on taking things one game at a time and finishing strong.”
49ers Face Rested Opponents
The San Francisco 49ers will face a significant challenge in 2024, as they’re scheduled to play four teams coming off a bye week – the most of any team in the NFL. This means their opponents will have an extra week of rest and preparation, putting the 49ers at a potential disadvantage.
“Playing teams coming off a bye is never easy,” said 49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan. “But we’re a resilient team, and we’ll be ready for the challenge.”
Ravens Well-Rested for 2024 Campaign
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Baltimore Ravens will enjoy a significant rest advantage over their opponents in 2024. According to ESPN, the Ravens have a +16 rest differential, meaning they’ll have a total of 16 more days of rest than their opponents – the highest of any team since the NFL expanded to 32 teams in 2002.
“Having that extra rest is a huge advantage,” said Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh. “It’ll help us stay fresh and focused throughout the season.”
Panthers Shut Out of Prime Time
The Carolina Panthers are the only team that failed to secure a single prime-time game in 2024, though they will play a standalone game against the New York Giants in Germany during Week 10.
“Not having any prime-time games is certainly disappointing,” said Panthers Head Coach Frank Reich. “But we’re focused on controlling what we can control and putting our best foot forward every week.”
Three Teams Face Three-Game Road Trips
The Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears, and Minnesota Vikings will all face the daunting task of playing three consecutive road games at some point during the 2024 season. Since 2018, NFL teams have posted a combined 30-30 record on such three-game road trips.
“Playing three straight games on the road is never easy, but we’re up for the challenge,” said Vikings Head Coach Kevin O’Connell. “We’ll take things one game at a time and focus on executing our game plan.”
Lions Stay Indoors for Most of the Season
In a unique scheduling quirk, the Detroit Lions will play 13 of their first 14 games indoors, with their Week 9 matchup against the Green Bay Packers being their only outdoor game during that stretch.
“Playing indoors is definitely an advantage for us,” said Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell. “But we’re focused on taking things one game at a time and being prepared for whatever conditions we face.”
“The NFL schedule is always full of surprises and quirks,” said ESPN analyst Adam Schefter. “But the 2024 slate seems to have taken things to a new level, with teams facing all sorts of unprecedented situations. It’ll be fascinating to see how these quirks play out and impact the season.”
