Sensational 2024 NFL QB Power Rankings: Brock Purdy, Jordan Love Astonishingly Crack Top 10, Daniel Jones Shockingly Lands at Bottom –
Quarterbacks Drive NFL Success
Nothing impacts the National Football League (NFL) quite like quarterbacks. They are the most crucial component in a championship team. While it’s not impossible to win without an elite quarterback, history shows it’s significantly easier with one. As the 2024 season approaches, we assess all 32 starting quarterbacks.
Patrick Mahomes Reigns Supreme
Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs tops the rankings. There’s no need to overthink this one. Like Tom Brady, Mahomes has adapted based on circumstances, evolving from a big-play striker to a methodical sharpshooter, methodically dominating the game. He is the current and indefinite standard at the position.
Brock Purdy’s Rapid Rise
Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers lands at No. 2. The kid deserves respect. In just two seasons, he’s reached two NFC title games and one valiant Super Bowl effort. While he has a stellar setup in San Francisco, Purdy operates like a 10-year veteran, efficiently managing the pocket as both a passer and mobile threat.
Josh Allen’s Rollercoaster Talent
Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills comes in at No. 3. Allen was already a one-man rollercoaster ride, and things could get rockier with his entire receiving corps replaced. But he’s a perennial MVP candidate due to his Superman-like skill set. If anyone can will a team to contention with a rocket arm and bruising legs, it’s him.
“Purdy’s rapid ascent is remarkable. He plays with the poise of a seasoned vet,” said Mike Mayock, NFL Draft analyst.
Joe Burrow Projected for Rebound
Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals ranks 4th. Injuries derailed his 2023 season, so this is a projection of his recovery. But he’s always thrived as a precise pocket surgeon, and he still has elite weaponry alongside a bolstered offensive line. Don’t be surprised if his timely touch has Cincinnati back in the title hunt.
Rising Stars Shine Bright
C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texans (5th) was the feel-good story of the 2023 draft class, displaying poise and a downfield attacking mentality as a rookie. With newly added Stefon Diggs, Stroud could garner preseason MVP hype.
Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers (10th) was one of 2023’s most dazzling revelations. In his first full season as the starter, Love looks to have the moxie of a long-term playmaker, though he must rein in his Brett Favre-esque gunslinging tendencies.

Comeback Candidates Seek Resurgence
Lamar Jackson (6th) of the Baltimore Ravens returned to elite form in 2023 before a late-season falter. But he remains one of the toughest players to defend with his dual-threat dynamism. The addition of Derrick Henry should boost the ground game.
Aaron Rodgers (11th) of the New York Jets is a mystery at 40 and coming off a serious injury. But if upright, he could maximize the Jets’ playoff-caliber roster, though he hasn’t posted elite numbers in three years.
Jared Goff (13th) of the Detroit Lions has restored respect, emerging as a gutsy leader in the Lions’ resurgence. Now he has another chance to prove himself after a bid for a Super Bowl berth fell agonizingly short.
Derrick A. Davis, NFL analyst at ESPN, noted, “The entire league will be watching Rodgers and Goff to see if they can rekindle past glory.”
Rookies Enter the Fray
Caleb Williams (23rd) of the Chicago Bears has a quality supporting cast out of the gate, unlike predecessor Justin Fields. Savvy vets like D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen should ease Williams’ debut of his heralded arm.
For the Indianapolis Colts, Anthony Richardson (24th) was a supersized fireworks show when healthy as a rookie, showcasing mobility and a huge arm. But he was banged up multiple times, rendering him a major unknown.
Bottom of the Ranks
Daniel Jones of the New York Giants lands at 32nd. The Giants reportedly considered replacing their rehabbing investment, whose ball-security woes resurfaced behind a subpar line in 2023. Perhaps rookie Malik Nabers can restore Jones’ fortunes.
